ABSTRACT
This article focuses on a study which examined the long-term survival of penetrating keratoplasty (PKP) grafts with an existing glaucoma tube shunt. A number of patients with previously implanted Ahmed valves that underwent PK served as subjects in this study. Results showed that the probability of a clear graft at one year was 57.6%, 42.9% at two years and 40.9% at three years. A previously failed PK and stroma vessels are the strongest risk factors for graft failure, the study says.
