This section offers news briefs related to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community in Ohio as of March 2009. An official policy which gives preference to traditional couples over single people or same-sex couples in the foster care and adoption cases has been adopted by the Butler County Children Services. Applications to volunteer for the 2009 Columbus Arts Festival is already open. Lesbian and gay rights leader Matthew Coles will deliver a speech at the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law on April 16.
