ABSTRACT
The article reports on the perceived benefits of acquiring stakes in U.S.-base shale to European energy companies. Three energy companies from Great Britain, France and Norway purchase stake in domestic shale producing oil and gas. The most recent was Total which acquired a 50% interest in American Shale Oil LLC in a venture that entails cooperating on a western Colorado shale oil lease.
