ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the missionary work of Vincent Donovan, a Roman Catholic priest and a member of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit. Donovan has spent 15 years as a missionary among the Maasai in northern Tanzania. He tried to enculturate the Gospel into the local culture of the Maasai. He practiced evangelization which resulted in the building of indigenous Maasai churches. However, he left after the completion of the churches because he does not want to contaminate them with Western assumptions and practices.
