ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the plan of the operators of public spaces, plazas, lobbies and retail establishments to link their security videos to the video systems of the New York City Police Department. Desmond Smyth, president of New York City-based SecureWatch24, says that the move is the response of various business establishments to augment their protection through private security. The integration serves as the beginning of a partnership between the public and private sectors in the city.
