ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the importance of security systems in public spaces and the retail environment. It discusses the difficulty of securing the public spaces from various forms of risks including terrorists, criminals, natural disasters, accidents, mistakes and conflicts. It also reminds the duty of security professionals to deploy all components of security programs, ranging from safety officers to camera systems, to mapping and crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED).
