The article discusses the increasing rate of crimes in the U.S. The 2009 annual corporate issues survey by Ken Blanchard Cos. revealed that 44 percent of the police departments report increases in certain types of crime due to economic crisis while 63 percents have plans for an overall cut in their total funding for the next fiscal year. Meanwhile, the elements of contingency plans are enumerated which include management of workplace violence and utilization of risk assessment processes.
