The article discusses the impact of Internet Protocol (IP)-based security systems on third-party services in the U.S. It is noted that the Goodwill Industries of Eastern North Carolina uses the security systems for monitoring of cleaning operations, where the staff have access cards. Meanwhile, the IP-based communications with IP door controllers facilitates the setup process which represented a true rebirth of access control technology.
