The article reports on the investigation of the listeriosis outbreak in 2008 in Canada. It states that Sheila Weatherhill, former president of the Edmonton Health Authority, was appointed by Prime Minister Stephen Harper to lead the investigation. However, critics treat the investigation as farce because of Harper's limited authority to check whether the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and other levels of government had neglected their responsibilities during the outbreak.
