ABSTRACT

The article reports that the bailout funds for small banks' are going to their lenders. The parent of Citizens First National Bank in Downstate Princeton handed over almost two-thirds of its $25 million in bailout money to Bank of America Corp. because Bank of America wanted a loan repaid in full. Melrose Park-based Midwest Banc Holdings Inc. agreed to pay $15 million to lender M&I Bank of Wisconsin after failing to comply with some terms of its loan agreement.
