Software as a Service: A Bright Spot in a Bleak Landscape

The article reports on the result of the Gartner survey, which states that nine out of 10 companies planned to develop their use of software as a service (SaaS). It relates that SaaS is a software which is accessed over the Internet and offered at a monthly transaction fee. It also affirms that among the benefits of the software model include not having to pay large upfront fees, purchase hardware and users receive automatic upgrades.
