ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the impact of recession on loan guarantors to small and medium-size (SME) businesses in China, particularly on Credit Orienwise Group Ltd. As stated, Zhang Kaiyong, chairman of Orienwise and a member of China rich list, with an estimated net worth of $200 million, has had good reason to lie low recently. Yang Xin of Axa Capital says many SME guarantee companies have closed as they are not able to get loans back from the companies.
