ABSTRACT
The article explores the use of activated sludge technology in an industrial setting. Factors such as the active biomass under aeration and the aeration power density are considered to be important for the activated sludge technology's design. The technology has become essential to municipal wastewater systems as it can efficiently define the process. With respect to industrial applications, however, the Eckenfelder three-stage model is suggested as it can effectively examine kinetic reaction.
