ABSTRACT
The papers wants to propose a model to achieve excellence in project management according to International Project Management Association award system, whose winners were for several times metallurgical companies. In order to adapt it for the Romanian metallurgical actors, the papers present the currently trends in metallurgical branch and suggest that project excellence can be a possible solution to overlap the suddenly started crisis.
