ABSTRACT
The article focuses on Gennadiy Bogolyubov, a Ukrainian billionaire. Over the past decade Bogolyubov has become the most important private player in the world manganese business. First he snatched control of much of Ukraine's metal alloy business and its associated manganese mines, and then he acquired mines in Ghana and Australia. Working through the secretive Privat Group, in which he is a major shareholder, Bogolyubov is now second biggest miner in the world, in the manganese market.
