ABSTRACT
The purpose of this research is to determine the motivation level of the students who attend the English courses at Summer Schools. Literature review and questionnaire technique were used to realize the aims of the research. The questionnaire was an 11- item instrument based on Olivia's list of conditions of motivation. Sample of the research was a total of 90 preparatory class students attending the English courses at Summer School 2007 program of YADÖM at Gazi University. The results of the study showed that out of 11 items of conditions of motivation, 9 are provided and motivate the students positively while 1 item is not maintained and therefore affects their motivation negatively.
