ABSTRACT
The records which are taken into consideration in this study include the results of the census of property and population which was held in 1844. The temettüat registers contain very rich data regarding almost all of the characteristics of socio-economic life such as demography and agricultural economy. In XIXth century Düzce was on of Bolu's towns. In this issue tobacco production in Düzce in the first half of the 19th Century was shown and a further attribution to the agricultural history of Anatolia was made. İn this study it is understood that tobacco producers in Düzce produced tobacco in small fields.
