ABSTRACT

Some misinterpretations of Hadiths, being one of the basic sources of Islam, do take place nowadays. There are various reasons for such intentional or unintentional misinterpretations. One such reason is the change that takes place in the meaning of words, either by itself through out the historical periods or by translation from one language into the other. Such changes in meaning leads to misinterpretations by those who are only aware of the current meanings of those words. In this study, we present such misinterpretations and their results by rigorous examples.
