ABSTRACT
This article emphasizes the need for today's businesses to change their strategies. The chief executive is the person responsible for strategic management, for instance, Joe McGrath was successful in reinventing Unisys within 18 months of his tenure at the firm n 2005. His strategy emphasized innovation and technological strengths. According to an International Business Machines (IBM) survey, majority of chief executives and business leaders think that they need to make fundamental changes in their business strategies over the next few years. Business model innovation has emerged as the new strategic differentiator in the survey. The survey also found that strategic innovation enables companies to specialise and move more quickly to seize emerging growth opportunities.
