ABSTRACT
The article reports on the results of research which was conducted in an effort to determine the extent of wound complications in injured soldiers who received lower extremity traumatic amputations that used either FiberWire sutures or sutures that were made from an alternative type of material. Researchers examined the cases of 193 soldiers who had had amputations. They found that FiberWire associated foreign body reactions appear to be a real but uncommon complication.
