ABSTRACT
The article presents information for financial planners on how to identify and assist potential customers in need of financial planning services. It is noted that many consumers who have $50,000 or more in annual income or assets are aware of the need for professional financial planning, but have no personal experience with such services. The importance of targeting this segment of the market and addressing the concerns such consumers is stressed. Issues typically of importance in this context are discussed, including retirement planning, household expenses and debt.
