The article outlines the memories of Kaunas School of Arts in Lithuania. It notes that the country has many higher education institutions from which diverse cultural activities are permitted to evolve. It explores the artistic, cultural and social environment of the period when the school was being established in the city. History shows that the city had to establish schools, form a university, organize a self-reliant government and restore its devastated economy when the country recovered its independence. It also counts on the singularity and character of the country's customs and languages.
