Conveyor Provides Cut-rate Precision

February 2009
Assembly;Feb2009, Vol. 52 Issue 2, p26
The article focuses on the move of Arnold Machine Inc. to use a pneumatic indexing system from Northstar Industries Inc. to resolve its problem on developing an automated assembly system. The system utilizes a series of 8-by-6-inch pallets with a single nesting fixture. It says that the machine has heavy-duty frame which acts as a solid base for mounting assembly tooling and its cost helped in bringing the project in low budget. It cites the precision of the conveyor for a material-handling robot in unloading the finished product.
