ABSTRACT
The article reports that the water in Lake Tahoe is no longer as clear in 2009 as it was in the past. The lake is located on the border of Nevada and California, and scientists have estimated that In 1968 the water was clear enough to see objects at a depth of 102 feet. In 2008 scientists found that runoff from nearby towns had clouded the water, limiting visibility to 70 feet.
