The article profiles Patrick Smith, Foodservice Director at Carriage Hill Nursing Center, Bethesda, Maryland. In 1968, he heard Jimi Hendrix play and, was so taken with Hendrix's skill, he decided to learn to play the guitar. He got involved in a series of seminars called Guitar Craft. He wrote everything on "Scattered Hearts" in which the recording process took about a year and a half. A lot of these songs in the album are coming from a personal experience.
