ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the status of Czech Republic's current account deficit and offers an outlook for 2009. From January to November 2008, the country's current account deficit increased to €3.67 billion. It is expected that the deficit will contract in 2009 and estimates are revised to 1% of gross domestic product (GDP) in 2009 from 2.8% in 2008. Trade surplus slightly improved to €4.51 billion between January and November 2008, attributed to a faster rate of export growth.
