The article presents a political, economic and business risk assessment for the Czech Republic. The leader of the Senate Premysl Sobotka announced on February 25, 2009 that the senate may delay the ratification of the European Union's Lisbon Treaty until May. In December 2008, the country's industrial production declined by 14.6% year-on-year which is a slight improvement from November.
