ABSTRACT
The article considers the use of advertising-supported music by music studios. According to sales of compact discs and digital music taken together slipped 12 percent in the fourth quarter of 2007. Advertising-supported music is being explored by the likes of music startups SpiralFrog, Qtrax, and Imeem, among others.
