ABSTRACT
The article reports on the opening by the Australian venture capital firm Southern Cross Venture Partners of an office in Palo Alto, California. The firm closed its first fund, worth $150 million, in 2007. According to co-founder John Scull, its strategy is to invest in an inefficient market, which is Australia and New Zealand, and help migrate the companies to the U.S. Portfolio companies that got their start in Australia are Xerocoat, M&MD and UIactive.
