ABSTRACT
This article reports on the possible submission of a report and recommendation on whether to grant planning permission for an upgraded transmission line between Beauly and Denny in Scotland in 2009. The line is considered vital to transmit power from planned windfarms in the north of Scotland, but has encountered opposition. The report will be submitted to energy minister Jim Mather, who aims to announce a decision within the year.
