ABSTRACT
The article reports on the patent lawsuit settlement between eBay and MercExchange. In the settlement, Internet auction leader eBay will buy three patents from MercExchange needed to run its Web search, online auctions and fixed price sales, as well as other assets, for an undisclosed sum. According to the eBay's latest quarterly financial filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the company had set aside reserves to cover costs of the litigation and potential damages.
