ABSTRACT
The article reports on an announcement by Houston, Texas-based BMC Software in March 2008 that it is buying Bladelogic for $28 per share in a deal worth about $800 million. In a conference call, BMC president and chief executive Bob Beauchamp said the company will make a tender offer to BladeLogic shareholders. Analyst Richard Sherman said BMC sales channel partners and customers had been asking for such a deal that delivers leading technology in data center automation.
