Mobile Phones Narrow Digital Divide

This article reveals the narrowing digital divide between rich and poor countries as mobile phones and Internet use become more available, according to a United Nations report. Mobile phone subscribers in developing countries have almost tripled over the last five years, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) claims. It also notes that mobile phones were the main communication tool for small businesses in developing countries which lead to reduce costs and increase in speed of transactions.
