The article focuses on the Soldiers Undertaking Disabled Scuba (SUDS) program and its efforts to teach injured U.S. war veterans how to dive. The program is designed to help veterans wounded in Afghanistan and Iraq with their rehabilitation at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C. John Thompson, president of SUDS and a scuba instructor, says that the program does not only rehabilitate but it also builds confidence and provides adventure for the wounded veterans.
