ABSTRACT
The article focuses on fruit and vegetable gardening at schools across the U.S. During the month of October, students at Madison Elementary School in Redondo Beach, California planted vegetables such as lettuce, radishes, and carrots and they harvested the crops in January. The vegetables harvested were washed and served at the school's salad bar and the extra food was sold at the cafeteria for lunch.
