The article focuses on Sound City recording studio, and its owner Tom Skeeter and studio manager Shivaun O'Brien. It discusses the history and ups and downs of the facility which was founded in 1969, and is located in Van Nuys, California. Skeeter states that upgrading the studio to state-of-the-art was the smartest thing they ever did. O'Brien talks about how she saved the Studio A console from death, and how they started from no bookings to having reservations several months in advance.
