ABSTRACT
The article reports on the proposal to build a third runway at Heathrow Airport, London, England, as snow storms hit the facility resulted to cancellation of several flights. The blizzards left up to eight inches of snow in the southeast which forced the authority to cancel 868 inbound and outbound flights from the airport on February 2, 2009. According to the Association of British Travel Agents, the situation could be avoided in the future once the third runway will be built.
