The article reports that author Vikas Swarup and screenwriter Simon Beaufoy have won the 21st USC Scripter Award for the film "Slumdog Millionaire," in the U.S. According to the article, they beat the writers from films including "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," "The Reader," and "Iron Man." In addition, Beaufoy has expressed his delight on how the American entertainment industry is giving importance to writers, asserting that there is nothing like it in his hometown in Great Britain.
