ABSTRACT
The article reports on the acquisition of Linux-based email server and calendaring company PostPath by networking equipment company Cisco for $215 million. The deal is set to become the 15th acquisition of Cisco in less than two years and the 11th software application and services company it acquired. Cisco's numerous acquisitions enabled it to enter a number of application software-dominated markets, including cloud computing, social networking, collaboration, and now email.
