ABSTRACT
The article reports that the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, named after a retired Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. plant supervisor, Lilly Ledbetter, was the first piece of legislation to be passed by the U.S. Congress and signed into law by U.S. President Barack Obama. Two years ago Ledbetter had lost a pay discrimination suit against Goodyear in the U.S. Supreme Court. The Act clarifies that its 180-day statute of limitations is renewed with each paycheck that emanates from pay discrimination.
