Reports on the introduction of the Saab Combustion Control direct-injection engine by Saab Automobile AB at the Paris Auto Show in France in September 2000. Reduction of an engine's fuel consumption and emissions; Mixing of exhaust gases in the combustion process; Use of variable valve timing to dilute the air-fuel mixture with exhaust gases without disrupting the air-to-fuel ratio.
