Telemonitoring, electronic orders improve efficiency

The article focuses on the benefit of using telemonitoring technology in monitoring patients based on the statements of Beth Carpenter, president of the health care consulting firm Beth Carpenter and Associates. Carpenter claims that telemonitoring is a way to increase contact with patients, and to monitor them on a daily basis even without making a visit. She also claims that electronic orders and electronic physician signature speed up changes in care plans.
