ABSTRACT
This section offers news briefs on the technology industry. NBC Universal has partnered with private equity firms Bain Capital and the Blackstone Group to acquire the Weather Channel. A debate has been scheduled on June 16, 2008 by the European Parliament which will focus on a series of telecom regulations. Microsoft has filed a complaint to a European Union court claiming that the $1.4 billion antitrust fine imposed on it is excessive.
