The article discusses computer-assisted orthopedic surgery and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). The AAOS held a symposium on computer-assisted surgery of the knee and hip to gain knowledge of the imaging and surgical navigation treatment of knee and hip disease. Treatment programs for knee and hip disease have high risks of surgical error which are improved with computer-assisted orthopedic surgery.
