ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the findings of a study, which confirms the commonly held view that General Electric Co. (GE) is an excellent breeding ground for future business leaders. It is stated that the system at GE selects and develops good leaders, and is combined with a disciplined evaluation and promotion system that is merit based. It was found by the study that firms which hire CEOs developed at GE have persistent positive abnormal returns.
