UPDATE: McAfee Snaps Up Secure Computing for $413M

This article reports on the acquisition of Secure Computing by security software firm McAfee. On September 17, 2008, the share price of McAfee dropped by 1.6 percent while Secure Computing posted a 23.2 percent gain. Analyst Daniel Ives of Friedman, Billings, Ramsey & Co. thinks that McAfee was using weakness in the financial markets as an opportunity to boost its product line. McAfee's revenue increased by 26 percent to $397 million as of July 31, 2008, while its net income was $47.8 million.
