Microsoft, Pokémon Make Sales Moves in Japan

This article reports that Microsoft's Xbox 360 console has outsold rival Nintendo Wii in the Japanese market. 28,681 Xbox units were sold during the week of September 8-14, 2008, while the Wii sold 27,057 units, according to Enterbrain. To boost sales in the holiday buying season, Microsoft implemented a price cut on its console. The Pokémon Platinum role-playing game (RPG) for the Nintendo DS has sold 967,675 copies in the first two days of its release, Enterbrain notes.
