ABSTRACT
The article reports on the impact of the stock market turmoil on the initial public offering market in the U.S. According to Andrew Metrick, professor of finance at Yale University's School of Management, although venture capitalists are far from mortgage-backed securities, they will not be immune to the turmoil plaguing the financial markets. The crisis is also expected to affect merger and acquisition deals.
