The article discusses Nokia's increased business and technology support for VC-backed mobile application developers. Like Apple, Nokia is presenting new independent mobile applications through open marketplaces. It announced the new support program to bolster startups it is planning to launch. Moreover, Nokia added $100 million to its indirect funding through independent VCs bringing that total to $700 million.
