The article focuses on the response of the Internet service provider Illiad to a deal signed between France's telecommunication operators Orange and SFR to bring high-speed fiber optic cables to the home. Illiad argues that the deal, which would let individual apartment buildings select which of the two operators should wire their property, is illegal. Maxime Lombardini, managing director of Illiad, said his company favored having several fiber service providers at each building to assure competition.
